Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Knowlee collects, why we need it, and the choices you have when you turn study material into Fragments, audio lessons, and exercises.

We do not sell your personal information.

Your study material is processed to provide the features you request.

Payment card details are handled by Paddle, not Knowlee.

1. Overview

Knowlee (“Knowlee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a study workspace that turns material you add into source-traceable Fragments, audio lessons, and recall exercises. This Privacy Policy applies when you use the Knowlee website and its related services.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: your email address and, when you use Google sign-in, profile information Google makes available, such as your name and profile image.
  • Study material: text, public URLs, files, images, audio, video, and other content you choose to upload or paste.
  • Generated data: Fragments, source references, podcast scripts and audio, exercises, answers, attempts, and learning progress.
  • Billing data: Paddle customer, transaction, price, and subscription identifiers and status. Knowlee does not receive or store your full payment card number.
  • Technical data: information needed to operate and secure the service, such as request logs, device or browser details, IP address, and authentication session data.

3. How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, store and organize your Vaults, extract useful study content, generate audio and exercises, check exercise answers, remember your progress, manage subscriptions and limits, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and maintain the reliability and security of Knowlee.

4. AI and study material

When you request AI-powered processing, the relevant material may be sent to OpenRouter and the model provider selected for that request, currently including Google. Google Cloud services may also process podcast scripts to generate speech. We send the content needed to complete the feature, and we do not use your study material to train a Knowlee-owned model.

AI and model providers have their own data handling terms. Avoid uploading confidential, regulated, or highly sensitive personal information unless you are comfortable with it being processed by these providers.

5. How information is shared

We share information only as needed to provide and protect the service, comply with law, or complete a transaction. Our main service providers include:

  • Convex for authentication, application data, server functions, and file storage.
  • Google for optional Google sign-in and cloud AI or speech services.
  • Resend for one-time sign-in emails.
  • OpenRouter and selected model providers for AI inference.
  • Paddle for checkout, subscriptions, tax, payment processing, and its role as merchant of record.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Retention and deletion

We retain account and study data while your account is active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain security. When you delete a Vault, Fragment, episode, or another supported item, it is immediately hidden from your active workspace and marked as deleted. It may remain in protected systems, logs, or backups until the applicable retention period ends.

7. Your choices and rights

You can edit or remove supported content inside Knowlee, manage your Paddle subscription through the billing portal, and choose whether to use Google or email authentication. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal information. Contact us to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

8. Children’s privacy

Knowlee is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires parental or guardian consent for a younger student to use an online service, that consent must be obtained before using Knowlee. If you believe a child provided personal information without the required consent, contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Knowlee changes. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
